Guiding PTSC in aligning with Ørsted’s requirements and navigating the complexities of international collaboration.
JMA proudly facilitated a groundbreaking collaboration between PTSC (PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation) and Ørsted, the global leader in renewable energy, for the Greater Changhua 2b & 4 Offshore Wind Farm project in Taiwan.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for Vietnam, showcasing its ability to contribute to large-scale international renewable energy projects.
On May 19, 2023, PTSC and Ørsted signed a landmark contract for the fabrication and supply of 33 offshore jacket foundations for the Greater Changhua 2b & 4 project. Each jacket measures approximately 85 meters tall, weighs around 2,300 tons, and plays a crucial role in supporting offshore wind turbines in challenging marine environments.
According to Tuổi Trẻ, this is the first large-scale offshore renewable energy export contract for Vietnam, positioning PTSC as a key supplier in the global offshore wind energy market. The project is expected to utilize up to 70,000 tons of steel, creating significant opportunities for Vietnamese subcontractors and contributing to the local economy.
Located 35-60 km off the coast of Changhua County, Taiwan, the Greater Changhua 2b & 4 Offshore Wind Farm is developed by Ørsted and has a total capacity of 920 MW.
Once operational, it will supply clean energy to approximately 1 million households, setting a benchmark for offshore wind projects in the Asia-Pacific region.
The project, as reported by Reuters, is a flagship initiative that reinforces Taiwan’s leadership in renewable energy while paving the way for enhanced regional collaboration.
